Central Command, which oversees U.S. Department of Defense operations in the Middle East, altered assessments of the campaign against ISIS to make it appear as though the United States and Western partners were making more progress than they really were, according to claims from a whistleblower assigned to CENTCOM and 50 other spies. We also supported the terrorists in Syria.
The investigation has been going on since September and Barack vowed during a presser in Malaysia on Sunday to “get to the bottom” of it.
“One of the things I insisted on the day I walked into the Oval Office was that I don’t want intelligence shaded by politics,” he told reporters at a news conference in Malaysia, wrapping up a nine-day East Asia trip. I don’t want it shaded by the desire to tell a feel-good story.”
That, of course, is the exact opposite of reality.
Does anyone who has heard Obama lie about the “contained” “jayvee” ISIS, really believe he wasn’t behind it in some way, perhaps directing it? If he didn’t direct it, he sent the message that their careers depended on him telling him what he wanted to hear.
Obama hasn’t done a thing to stop ISIS, in fact, he reportedly blocks 75% of ISIS strikes. In October, there were only 107 air strikes. In order to continue to do nothing, he must have reports claiming he’s making progress with ISIS. He was forced into action when James Foley was beheaded. It was never something he wanted to do.
The House Intelligence and Armed Services committees will form a task force formed to investigate in the near future but it won’t go anywhere.
CENTCOM insists they’re innocent and the Inspector General has seized emails and documents from military servers.
The government whistleblowers who have spoken out are the Pentagon’s Daniel Ellsberg, the NSA’s Thomas Drake, and the FBI’s Coleen Rowley, among others.
There were also – allegedly – fraudulent claims by two other former officials, the CIA’s Michael Morell and the NSA’s John Schindler, both of whom attempt to absolve the Obama administration of responsibility for the policy failures and which were exposed by DIA documents obtained by Judicial Watch.
The Daily Beast reported that more than 50 intelligence analysts working out of the U.S. military’s Central Command have formally complained that their reports on ISIS and al Qaeda’s branch in Syria were being inappropriately altered by senior officials.
“The cancer was within the senior level of the intelligence command,” one defense official said.
Senior command answers to Barack Obama who has politicized the intelligence reports, an extremely dangerous thing to do.
The Daily Beast wrote, Two senior analysts at CENTCOM signed a written complaint sent to the Defense Department inspector general in July alleging that the reports, some of which were briefed to President Obama, portrayed the terror groups as weaker than the analysts believe they are. The reports were changed by CENTCOM higher-ups to adhere to the administration’s public line that the U.S. is winning the battle against ISIS and al Nusra, al Qaeda’s branch in Syria, the analysts claim.
There are 50 analysts supporting the whistleblowers in what has become a full-blown revolt.
Key elements were removed from intelligence reports and the environment was described as “Stalinist”.
The US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) document obtained by Judicial Watch confirms that the intelligence community foresaw the rise of ISIS three years ago because of support to the radicals in Syria, Insurge Intelligence reported..
According to Insurge, the August 2012 ‘Information Intelligence Report’ (IIR) revealed that the insurgency was mostly comprised of al-Qaeda in Iraq and other extremists. The report included the prediction that an Islamic Caliphate could occur throughout Iraq and Syria. The fall of Mosul and Ramadi were predicted.
The US and Western powers were directly supporting terrorists because it was anti-Assad.
In Al Jazeera’s latest Head to Head episode, former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency Michael Flynn confirms to Mehdi Hasan that not only had he studied the DIA memo predicting the West’s backing of an Islamic State in Syria when it came across his desk in 2012, but even asserts that the White House’s sponsoring of radical jihadists (that would emerge as ISIL and Nusra) against the Syrian regime was “a willful decision.”
In March, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn told Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday that our foreign policy is one of almost “willful ignorance” at the same time we have almost a “complete breakdown of order in the Middle East.”
