FBI Director says they didn’t “spy” on the campaign, just surveilled

FBI Director Christopher Wray says the word “spying” is not the word he would use to describe the FBI’s method of investigating the Trump campaign. It was surveillance. He had to mince words to embarrass Bill Barr.

The left is using this to trash Bill Barr.

Does anyone really believe the people infiltrating the Trump campaign weren’t spying and this two-year probe was predicated?

What was the basis? According to Mueller, George Papadopoulos was the basis. It’s hard to believe, especially after the dossier was exposed.

As for spying, even the NY Times admitted a woman named Azra Turk [likely an alias] was sent by someone to spy on George Papadopoulos.

That’s the second spy. The first spy, I mean the person who surveilled, was Stefan Halper. We don’t know who Joseph Mifsud was working for, but we do know he was spying for someone.

WRAY SAYS THE FBI SURVEILLED THE OPPONENT’S CAMPAIGN

At a Senate Appropriations subcommittee hearing on Tuesday, Wray was asked by Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) whether or not the FBI is “spying” when it investigates suspected terrorists and criminals.

“I was very concerned by his [Bill Barr’s] use of the word spying, which I think is a loaded word,” Shaheen said. “When FBI agents conduct investigations against alleged mobsters, suspected terrorists, other criminals, do you believe they’re engaging in spying when they’re following FBI investigative policies and procedures?”

“Well, that’s not the term I would use,” said Wray.

He continued, “I believe that the FBI is engaged in investigative activity, and part of investigative activity includes surveillance activity of different shapes and sizes. And to me, the key question is making sure that it’s done by the book, consistent with our lawful authorities. That’s the key question. Different people use different colloquial phrases.”

Wray will obviously say the FBI had reason to spy, I mean surveil.

Wray refused to specifically talk about the investigation into the Trump campaign due to a Justice Department inspector probe into the origins of the Russia investigation. Attorney General Barr has said that report will be ready either this month or in June.

Asked whether he personally knew if the Trump campaign was spied on, Wray replied, “I don’t think I personally have any evidence of that sort.”

On the Justice Department probe, Wray commented, “The attorney general is seeking to understand better the circumstances at the department and the FBI relating to how this investigation started, and we’re working to help him get that understanding. I think that’s part of his job and part of mine.”

Maybe the FBI still needs some cleaning up.

  1. So why was the FBI “surveilling” Donald Trump’s campaign? Did they “surveil” Hillary Clinton’s campaign? Or any of the other Candidates’ campaigns? If they “surveilled” the other Republicans’ campaigns did they “surveil” Bernie’s campaign? How about Jill Stein, did the FBI surveil her campaign? What about the communist and socialist parties campaigns? Were they surveilled? The answer is a resounding, NO! And who ordered the surveillance? Could it be Robert Mueller’s buddy and Donald Trump hater James Comey who was the Director at the time? How about Barack Hussein Obama? He had a vested interest in blocking Donald Trump from becoming president. “Enquiring minds want to know”

  2. Well, we’ve seen Wray speak for a few times now and in each case he has the same attitude, reflected by his demeanor. He displays such a cavalier attitude which causes people to question his ‘desire’ to do his job. You could almost assume it’s a lazy man’s demeanor. It’s as if he’s repeatedly saying, ‘who cares’. He simply cannot deny the many persons in HIS department that are scrutiny, if not under legal difficulty. This SHOULD be a serious concern on his part, but, ‘who cares’. We are at a point in time that an aggressive position on investigations is needed. According to Robyn Gritz there are serious issues with sexual harassment within that J.Edgar Hoover building, which also needs further inquiry. Under the circumstances I really doubt he’s the man for the job.

  3. I really believe Wray is in “cover-up” mode. We DO know the FISA application was primarily predicated upon the Steele Dossier and no one believes That is credible. Some say there are parts which ARE credible, but let’s not forget that dossier DID say there were “informants” within the Trump campaign. Of course Now we know WHO they were, Government Informants. When an FBI Director dismisses concerns he is perpetuating a cover-up. He should resign immediately.

  4. Wray is part of the “deep state”!!!! Evidently, he thinks we’re all really stupid!!! He should not be the head of the FBI. Watch, his name will be appearing in Bill Barr’s investigation as one of the guilty conspirators in trying to derail our good President Donald J. Trump!!!

Hell, even Helen Keller can see that this wray guy is a liar!!!

  5. We can play semantics forever and the result will not change. Illegal activities were conducted by our government against a political candidate and later the duly elected President of the United States.

Call it what you want. Use whatever words turn you on. Criminal activity bu any other name is still treason/sedition.
