Obama Faces Impeachment Over Plans to Legalize 5 Million Immigrant Parents

The Boston Herald and the AP (according to the Boston Herald) are reporting that Barack Obama is laying the groundwork to legalize the illegal alien parents of children born in the United States. He could also extend DACA (Deferred Amnesty for Childhood Arrivals) to the parents of deferred status children.

It would mean the legalization of 5 million or more illegal immigrants and it will possibly put them on a path to citizenship.

Legalizing parents of U.S.-born citizens would account for about 5 million, DACA another million plus (there are about 560,000 deferred status children).

Sen. Jeff Sessions believes it puts an end to our immigration law and any enforcement. Obama will likely ignore visa overstays, illegal entry, forged documents, minor criminality (minor by his standards), and so on, as he did with DACA.

Rep. Steven King said that if Obama follows through on these purported plans, House proceedings to impeach must begin immediately. He predicts they will.

According to Breitbart, King said that if Obama “completely destroys the rule of law with the stroke of a pen” and “Congress fails to act,” there will be “enough Republicans who didn’t have a desire to do this” that will be “immediately activated” to consider impeachment.

It is the reason that Josh Earnest said on Friday that some Republicans are running for office on impeaching Obama. He was responding to a question about Dan Pfeiffer’s statement that the possibility of impeachment shouldn’t be discounted, according to Red Alert Politics.

They are preparing for the inevitable when Obama issues executive orders to legalize millions. Obama will probably agree to pay the expenses of the states incurred by illegal immigrants. He will use his endless pile of federal tax dollars to keep the states from balking.

Many in the media, like the LA Times, are already rallying to Obama’s side, stressing the failure of Congress to act and claiming that Democrats are hoping Republicans “overreach” and start impeachment proceedings.

Whatever President Obama has planned, it will come down as an executive order(s) and it could automatically legalize about 5 million of the 11 million here illegally, people who have come here without authorization or who have overstayed their visas.

He might allow them to apply for temporary legal status so they can work here legally. These permits could come with welfare, IDs and green cards.

Another option Obama is considering is to grant temporary legal status to parents of young people who have been granted deportation deferrals (DACA).

DACA is the reason so many youth are flooding across the border.

On Friday, in advance of his meeting with President Obama, Honduran President, Juan Orlando Hernández, offered his opinion on what caused the surge. In an interview with Time Magazine on Wednesday, he said, “The lack of clarity of U.S. immigration policy [has lured migrants to the United States illegally].”

“So my call to the United States is that it defines these rules with clarity,” Hernández said.

Our law is unclear because Mr. Obama is ignoring immigration law and operating lawlessly.

The plans for executive actions are ever-evolving and were addressed recently by Sen. Jeff Sessions who will soon issue a statement.

Sen. Sessions explained in a news release Friday that DACA is amnesty. It provides IDs and work permits and precludes deportation. Work permits or green cards provide a path to citizenship after five years.

Sessions warned in the release that “It has now been extensively reported that these executive actions will likely expand his Deferred Action program (DACA) to apply to an additional 5–6 million adult illegal immigrants. The existing DACA program has been widely misunderstood. The executive action did not, as The Hill writes today, only result in ‘deferred deportations for young undocumented immigrants.’ Illegal immigrants in the interior of the U.S. have already, as a practical matter, been immune from enforcement under this Administration. DACA applies to individuals up to 30 years of age and provides actual amnesty papers, photo ID, and work permits to illegal immigrants—who can then take any job in America.”

This is at a time of high unemployment and with Americans leaving the work force in record numbers.

Sessions, referring to statements by open borders Rep. – Luis Gutiérrez – said that “Days after telling La Raza convention attendees that he [Gutiérrez] is confident President Obama will use executive action to give legal status to millions of immigrants in the United States illegally, Representative Luis Gutiérrez (D., Ill.) predicted that the administration could legalize as many as 5 million people… Gutiérrez said he will meet with White House officials later in the day ‘to negotiate additional terms and avenues the president can use’ through executive action.”

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus has given Obama their wish list of executive actions which lends further support to this latest report. They even want the president to give amnesty to everyone who would have received it under the Senate-passed immigration bill.

Pressure to legalize immigrants who came here unlawfully and to admit more comes from both political parties.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce CEO Thomas Donohue in May 2014 said that the Republican Party “should not bother to run a candidate” in the 2016 presidential election unless Congress approves an immigration reform. Donohue noted that a 2013 poll found 63 percent of Latino voters “would view House Republicans somewhat or much less favorably if House Republicans block immigration reform.”

Hispanic voters overwhelmingly reject the Republican Party and giving amnesty will probably make the situation worse since the incoming illegals heavily identify with the Democrats. Pew Research found that 71% of Hispanic voters leaned towards or favor the Democrat Party.

Even if they impeach Barack Obama, if he is allowed to legalize such an extraordinary number of illegals who come from socialist and communist countries and who are beholding to him and his party, it will forever change the character of our Republic.

More importantly, Barack Obama has been allowed to run roughshod over the constitution with impunity.

Sen. Sessions wants Americans to melt the phone lines on Monday. The U.S. Capitol Switchboard number is this: (202) 224-3121 but you can also call your individual senators and representatives. We have links in the left sidebar on this website.
