WOW! Fox News Issued Quite a Statement About Trump

Megyn Kelly, attack dog

Fox News says Donald Trump’s campaign manager threatened Megyn Kelly – terrorized her. They put out a very strong statement in response. I can’t say who is telling the truth but Donald Trump is an authoritarian and he and his people appear to be bullies.

After reading this, tell me if you consider it a threat. Is Trump a little suicidal?

The statement:

“As many of our viewers know, FOX News is hosting a sanctioned debate in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday night, three days before the first votes of the 2016 election are cast in the Iowa Caucus. Donald Trump is refusing to debate seven of his fellow presidential candidates on stage that night, which is near unprecedented,” a Fox News spokesperson said in a statement posted on TheBlaze.

We’re not sure how Iowans are going to feel about him walking away from them at the last minute, but it should be clear to the American public by now that this is rooted in one thing – Megyn Kelly, whom he has viciously attacked since August and has now spent four days demanding be removed from the debate stage.”

Fox said that the campaign manager Corey Lewandowski threatened Megyn Kelly.

“Capitulating to politicians’ ultimatums about a debate moderator violates all journalistic standards, as do threats, including the one leveled by Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski toward Megyn Kelly,” the statement said. “In a call on Saturday with a Fox News executive, Lewandowski stated that Megyn had a ‘rough couple of days after that last debate’ and he ‘would hate to have her go through that again.’ Lewandowski was warned not to level any more threats, but he continued to do so.”

“We can’t give in to terrorizations toward any of our employees,” the statement added. “Trump is still welcome at Thursday night’s debate and will be treated fairly, just as he has been during his 132 appearances on FOX News & FOX Business, but he can’t dictate the moderators or the questions.”

Fox News provided a clip to the blaze of comments he made in 2011 when he wasn’t the subject.

  2. FOX News was just having a jolly good time when it put out it’s jesting statement about Trump’s going to put his henchmen in place of a Cabinet and all the crap they said. We were all just supposed to chortle at that. But they are supposed to be fair and balanced? They couldn’t just say they hoped Trump would reconsider, they had to try to make fun of Trump. But a campaign manager saying Megyn had some rough days after the debate and they would hate for her to go through that again – the rough days weren’t because of Trump, the rough days were because of a few million people saying she brought it all on herself by her gotcha question.
Further, after the episode, Megyn herself, on air, said she was a big girl and she could handle whatever. Does Fox News presume now to speak for Megyn Kelly? Does Megyn Kelly feel threatened by Trump’s campaign manager? Is she “terrorized?”
And one more thing. In addition to her saying she was a big girl, Megyn said she was practicing “journalism”. Two points on that – we watch Megyn a lot and appreciate a lot of her stuff. But like most other “on air personalities” these days, she can get animated. She can, genuinely or not, show concern, compassion, anger and disbelief in her presentations. And when she points out what someone else has said about this or that issue, if she doesn’t agree with it, she can make some of the cutest faces. Is that journalism?
Secondly, and returning to Fox News’s grave concern about “threats’ and “terror”, as we said, they had just the day before thought it cute to make fun of Trump when he was considering not attending the debate. But they didn’t make fun of Rand Paul when he didn’t show up for the undercard debate, did they? And they have not belittled or caricatured or pointedly got into the personas of any of the other candidates except Trump.
Which all goes back to their “fair and balanced” ethos. And goes back to the origin of the whole brouhaha, which was Kelly’s first question to Trump last August. Bret Baier has said that they did a lot of prep for that debat, and mulled questions over and got their act together. So it wasn’t just Megyn. Whether it was her idea or not,it was a Fox News decision to bring up a Trump personal attack on Rosie O’Donnell. Is Rosie O’Donnell the burning issue of the day? Is Fox News serious news organization? Is that debate question “fair and balanced”. Is Fox chiding Trump about taking his marbles and going home “fair and balanced”? Is Megyn making faces for the camera “journalism”?
And here’s the kicker – Fox News is the best option we’ve got. Go figure.

  3. I’d rather have Greta as a moderator. While I really don’t even like her, sometimes she is like a dog with a bone when it comes to diving straight for the minutia unseen by others, but without being a pompous and grandstanding mess like Kelly.

    • Greta? That means half the night we have to hear about how great Wisconsin is. No thanks. She’s on before prime time for a reason

  4. The way I see it lewandowski didn’t make any threat. What I believe is he was just stating a fact that was true Kelly had a couple rough days and he sounds like he wouldn’t want her to go through that again because of what she may ask Trump this time which may not go over well for her again. Trump is right not to go to the debate because everyone knows that Fox will try to slow him down for their own political and ratings game. This is what is wrong with our government today. They are all out for their own gain and not what is best for the whole country. The american people are fed up with the way things are going and this is just another example of it. To me it is refreshing to see someone that doesn’t do the status- quot. Why is Fox making a big issue if he attends or not? Regain didn’t attend the last debate when he ran and he won and the debate was in his home state. Why does the media think they have a right to make Trump look bad because he won’t attend their party so they can make money off him. Mr. Trump has my vote all the way.

  5. I am disappointed with FOX and how they have tried to portray Trump. It’s as if they are trying to make him look bad for the benefit of the GOP. I do not see the “fair and impartial” I think I used to see. After Megan K. came out with her Hillary win prediction, I think I have seen a change in her. I say let folks make up their own minds about Trump!

  6. Those things are not event debates. Don’t know if there’s a name for them, but debate ain’t it. High time a front running candidate told the media to shove it.

  7. What’s the big deal, Trump has nothing to gain by being “ganged up” on by an establishment dedicated to lying and stealing. Fox should have tried the tactic of “moderating” the debate instead of taking sides and there you go.

  8. She overplayed her hand and now is trying to cover herself with the help of those in charge of the Fox network. You cannot present a balanced debate if you are not an unbiased moderator. She has proven to be just the opposite of unbiased and Trump has just trumped her jack!

  9. Trump’s move could be a greatest political strategy played on the rest of the candidates. One thing, Mr. Trump is distancing himself from the rest. However, this strategy could be a double edge sword. It is a high risk, but the reward is great. Simply put, it is Trumpnesque.
